5 HABITS FOR A HAPPY HEALTHY LIFE
Sometimes we get caught up in our daily routine and we forget about taking care of our body, mind and spirit. Incorporate these simple things into our everyday activities until they become a habit!
- Start Fresh every day: life is not perfect and we know that! But it is up to us not to get stuck in negative situations and feelings, so if you had a bad day… make sure to turn the page and hit the reset button!
- Exercise! “I know… everyone says exercising is a must, but I don’t have the time” … The key here is understanding that exercise doesn’t have to be a big-time commitment or a self-inflicted torture. Find an activity that you enjoy, outdoor or indoor, and commit to it for at least 20 minutes 3 or 4 days a week and you will feel the difference.
- Drink water regularly: once again, this is one of those vital things that most of us forget to do during the day. Remember that up to 60% of the human adult body is water. According to H.H. Mitchell, Journal of Biological Chemistry 158, the brain and heart are composed of 73%water, and the lungs are about 83%
- Take a break from technology: we use our cellphones and computers for almost everything during the day… we depend so much on it that in cases their use has become and addiction. Establishing boundaries for cellphone use is important, put it away during the day (especially when it is family time) and give yourself a nice break!
- Cook (a little) more.
It’s unrealistic to cook every meal, but it really does make a difference for your overall health. A realistic way to go about it: replace one weekend dinner out and one takeout meal during the week with a healthy, easy dinner recipe.
